Probably Never Again

These are my grades for Fall semester. How cool is that? Yeah--probably NOT going to happen this semester with everything I've got going on (as it is either Marcos or I or both of us are having to miss classes to make my doctor's appointments!). This is my last semester (YEA!) and I'm not expecting perfection. So this was a nice last hoorah for straight A's.

Thanksgiving in January

1) The Internet. For reals. How did people live without it? I can keep in touch with so many people through emails and blogging that I wouldn't otherwise keep regular contact with. What would I do without the internet? I'd have to take the time to call everyone on the phone like a sucker.
A story for my kids...."when I was your age, I walked outside to look at the sky and feel if it was cold or not....we didn't have quick access to weather.com!"
I can also find ANY answer to ANY question imaginable on the internet. Given, the answers may not be credible, but hey, they're there!

2) My Husband. Marcos is amazing. He takes care of me when I'm not feeling well (which is always) and waits on me hand and foot. I love our relationship. There's never a dull moment! One minute we'll be joking about silly things and quoting funny movies, and the next we'll be in a thought-provoking conversation about religion, politics, or relationships.

3) My Eyebrows. (Shout out to Katie) This represents all the very little things about life that make such a big difference, but I don't think to be grateful for them because they're just....there. So, to all things I take for granted, I say an all-inclusive THANK YOU!

4) My Car. Sure my old car gets me from A to B, but it also has sentimental value. And I'm so glad that for an old car, it has been so reliable and low-maintenance. Do you ever drive down the road and think, "It would reeeeeally stink if my car broke down there!" I'm so grateful for a reliable car, even though I probably just jinxed myself. (Next post..."Where my car broke down....")

5) My Calling. I am Beehive Counselor in Young Women's and also the Personal Progress Specialist. Once a month, I'm completely in charge of planning Personal Progress night. (For those who don't know what that is, it's a church-based program designed to help girls ages 12-18 make and achieve goals to better themselves.) I'm grateful for Personal Progress--it is such a great program. But with the girls, it's kinda like Math. You groan when you hear the word, it can be grueling to get through, but you're usually quite proud when you've mastered something.

6) My Family. C'mon, you knew it was coming. But seriously, how could I survive without them? I wish I could see them more often, but I'm so happy to have them as a support system. I'm also grateful for my in-laws. Dude, I reeeeally lucked out with fantastic in-laws, even if they are a little crazy....some more than others.......you know who you are.......

FAQs

about my pregnancy. When you announce you are pregnant, there are a series of questions that everyone asks. Here they are with their answers as they apply to me. Feel free to pretend you didn't read this post if we're talking, so that we still have stuff to talk about. ;)

*How far along are you? 10 weeks tomorrow.

*When are you due? August 23, 2009.

*Having a baby in the Fresno heat of August? Are you crazy? YES.

*Was it planned? Definitely.

*How do you feel? Are you sick? I feel sick to my stomach alllllll the time, but I've only thrown up a couple of times. Sometimes I wish I would for some relief, but I guess I should feel blessed. Very selective and suppressed appetite and consistent gag reflex. Heartburn. Indigestion. FATIGUE.

*Do you want a boy or a girl? This question bothers me, because the true answer is corny, and I am not a corny person...as long as the baby is happy and healthy. It's true. Marcos wants a boy--duh--so he can teach him to get into trouble and be like his little nephew Jackson. If you don't know Jackson, we made need to have a longer conversation at some point.

*Have you thought of any names? We can't agree on any names yet. I like normal names that normal people like. Marcos wants any name that sounds Mexican (Diego) or his #1 choice is my Dad's name (Bruce), neither of which are happening (sorry Dad!:).

*What about school? This is my last semester, so I'll graduate at the end of my 2nd trimester and be done! Then I'll have a few months to prepare and nest and such.

*Are you still working? Yes...I'm infinitely glad that this is my last semester working and going to school. I'm sick and tired of it! Talk about exhausting! But I'll make it. I'll work for as long as I can comfortably until the baby comes, and then we'll see after that. Goodness knows I won't want to go back to work, but circumstances may require it.

*Are you excited? VERY. I think I'll be even more excited when I actually have something cute to hold instead of just feeling like I'm sick all the time. But we are very very excited! And for any of you who know my husband, you'll understand that he's *extremely* fond of children and just ecstatic!:)

Crash Pics

I found out today that the driver was drunk and still had his foot on the gas even after he crashed. He didn't even break--no skid marks. He's going to jail after he gets out of the hospital. Here are some more insane pics and a nice peak into the loan room and bathroom in our branch.

CRAZY

So...a car crashed through my bank today while we were in the building doing closing procedures. Literally, half inside our branch and half out...smoke, screeching engine, fire alarm, 911 response, the works. Driver's okay....but how WEIRD is that?!?!
