My Boys

I started taking pictures because I thought it was so funny that Marcos was super tired and Mason was happy and ready to play.

Chomping on Daddy's thumb. (Wake up Daddy!)

Baby wins....Daddy's awake! I love my boys!

Park Excitement

A few weeks ago Mason had his first experience at a park. It would be a lot more fun if he could actually run around and eat bugs and such. But he nonetheless enjoyed looking at the beautiful outdoor scenery and colorful playground he has yet to discover. He was especially thrilled with the swings. Can't you tell?

Thanksgiving 2009

This year we spent Thanksgiving with my family in San Diego. It was a busy and fun week. Traveling was rough, because Mason does NOT enjoy riding in the car....so what should have easily been a 5 hour trip ended up taking about 7 hours. I know, I hear ya.....I thought babies love car rides! Yeah. I thought so, too.

We had a great time with family once we arrived. My Mom made a yummy Thanksgiving meal and we got to go over to Aunt Carrie's for some dessert and long overdue cousin time. Unfortunately, that night Mason got sick for the first time, and that's when I learned that seeing your baby sick is pretty much the saddest thing ever.

Even though he wasn't feeling well, we still got some cute Mason shots with family. It took extra encouragement to get smiles, but he's a pretty good sport about pictures. I'm glad. Cuz if that many people tried to get me to smile and laugh when I was feeling sick....I'd pretty much wanna punch them in the face. Here's a bunch of pictures of my sweet boy and family. It was so much fun to see them. And play Tetris with them.....which, I might add, is one of the funnest games ever.

Halloween 2009

My sweet little pumpkin boy.

There's a jack-o-lantern face on the belly of his sleeper...but the stem on the hood was my *favorite* part!

Sleepy pumpkin

LOVE the stem!

Grandpa, Grandma, & Bella

Cousin Bella was the cutest little ladybug!

Binky pumpkin

Love that smile!
I must give a shoutout to Marcos, because ALL the cute pictures I post are his doing. He really enjoys taking pictures and has a naturally talented eye. Having a cute model doesn't hurt either. :)

Mason *loves* mirrors. He also loves playing with Daddy.

Put them together and you have pure glee.

What I Wish I'd Known #1

What I thought:
Babies fall asleep when they are tired.

Especially the during the first few weeks, my kid sure did cry a lot. A. LOT. I tried EVERYTHING to get him to stop crying. I thought newborns were supposed to sleep most of the day...ya know, like a cat or something. Why was mine always awake and crying?

What I learned: My baby cries when he is tired.

Apparently, not all babies fall asleep when they're tired. Thank you "Babywise" for the light bulb. My kid cries to fight sleep in a desperate attempt to keep himself awake. Wish I'd known this sooner...would've saved myself lots of agonizing time trying to soothe him with the swing, the bouncer, the floor, etc.

So now when he starts to get fussy, I put him to bed. And ya know what? He falls asleep! I know it sounds simple, but I just thought he'd magically fall asleep by himself when he's ready.

Cats are so much easier.

Wake up happy

He wakes up happy. Even if it's 4am and he's hungry. It makes it so much harder to be upset about the sleep interruption when I walk in and see this face.

I post so many baby pictures on this blog. Can you blame me? I don't have a MySpace or Facebook *gasp*, so all my pictures end up here. You may think I'm crazy, but I'll always have this as ammo when we play "I Never."

And since we're on the topic....these are the top 3 things I will most likely use against you when we play "I Never" (even though I haven't played that since I was like 13, but you have to think about these things):

1) I've never had a MySpace or Facebook

2) I've never had a cavity

3) I've never been to Six Flags

Am I the only one with surprising "I Nevers"? What's your "I Never" ammo?

Bath time

Mason is learning to like baths, which is great because he used to cry through the whole ordeal. He's not particularly smiley during the bath...more like quietly alert. Mellow. It's nice, because in general he's quite a fussy child. He sure is cute though!

I love baby bath pictures! They are just the cutest baby pictures...next to sleeping baby pictures and baby in pumpkin patch pictures. Oh, and let's not forget baby toes pictures. I'm the biggest sucker for baby toes pictures! We must have hundreds. Now I have to include a good toes picture or two...or four...

Stats

Mason went in for his 2 month checkup and to get some shots. Thank goodness Marcos could go to the appointment, because I'm much too chicken to go alone to witness his first shots. He was a brave boy, though, and interestingly enough cries worse when I burp him than when he gets shots. (...??)

Mason's 2 month stats:

Weight: 11lbs 2oz (34%)
Height: 23 1/2 in (72%)
Head: 40cm (51%)
