Park Excitement
A few weeks ago Mason had his first experience at a park. It would be a lot more fun if he could actually run around and eat bugs and such. But he nonetheless enjoyed looking at the beautiful outdoor scenery and colorful playground he has yet to discover. He was especially thrilled with the swings. Can't you tell?

Thanksgiving 2009
This year we spent Thanksgiving with my family in San Diego. It was a busy and fun week. Traveling was rough, because Mason does NOT enjoy riding in the car....so what should have easily been a 5 hour trip ended up taking about 7 hours. I know, I hear ya.....I thought babies love car rides! Yeah. I thought so, too.
We had a great time with family once we arrived. My Mom made a yummy Thanksgiving meal and we got to go over to Aunt Carrie's for some dessert and long overdue cousin time. Unfortunately, that night Mason got sick for the first time, and that's when I learned that seeing your baby sick is pretty much the saddest thing ever.
Even though he wasn't feeling well, we still got some cute Mason shots with family. It took extra encouragement to get smiles, but he's a pretty good sport about pictures. I'm glad. Cuz if that many people tried to get me to smile and laugh when I was feeling sick....I'd pretty much wanna punch them in the face. Here's a bunch of pictures of my sweet boy and family. It was so much fun to see them. And play Tetris with them.....which, I might add, is one of the funnest games ever.

What I Wish I'd Known #1
What I thought: Babies fall asleep when they are tired.
Especially the during the first few weeks, my kid sure did cry a lot. A. LOT. I tried EVERYTHING to get him to stop crying. I thought newborns were supposed to sleep most of the day...ya know, like a cat or something. Why was mine always awake and crying?
What I learned: My baby cries when he is tired.
Apparently, not all babies fall asleep when they're tired. Thank you "Babywise" for the light bulb. My kid cries to fight sleep in a desperate attempt to keep himself awake. Wish I'd known this sooner...would've saved myself lots of agonizing time trying to soothe him with the swing, the bouncer, the floor, etc.
So now when he starts to get fussy, I put him to bed. And ya know what? He falls asleep! I know it sounds simple, but I just thought he'd magically fall asleep by himself when he's ready.
Cats are so much easier.

Wake up happy
And since we're on the topic....these are the top 3 things I will most likely use against you when we play "I Never" (even though I haven't played that since I was like 13, but you have to think about these things):
1) I've never had a MySpace or Facebook
2) I've never had a cavity
3) I've never been to Six Flags
Am I the only one with surprising "I Nevers"? What's your "I Never" ammo?
