Mmmm.....Food!

Mason was recently introduced to real food! Here he is taking his first bites of rice cereal. He was so excited....

....he was practically leaping out of his chair, mouth open wide, attacking the spoon! The fact that he is taking to solids so easily is a huge blessing and almost makes up for the fact that he's been a monstrous challenge to nurse. He loves food, as long as it comes easily.

I want more!
This is even after his normal amount of milk, and I was worried he wouldn't be hungry enough to try new food. But he ate it all! Typical Duran boy......an opportunistic eater. If there's food, you'd better eat it!

This is the 2nd time feeding Mason cereal, and I wanted pictures of Marcos feeding him. Notice the 1st feeding Mason is wearing clothes (rookie mistake) and the 2nd feeding he's wearing just a bib (and diaper). We sure learned fast!....

......the extent of the mess each feeding makes is truly surprising. I'm slowly learning to accept that my baby boy will never stay clean. Ever. Smelling good? Forget about it. I'm coming to grips with the fact that he'll always smell a little sour, feel a little sticky, and be a whole lotta cute.

Look at him go! So funny. As far as the mess goes, try making the cereal thicker since he's eating so well. It sticks to the spoon better that way. Before you know it he's going to be eating solids 4 times a day and striping him down each time is going to be a huge pain in the you-know-what.

beckett loooooves food too, and loves the easiness of it. it didn't take long for him to be more clean at eating. it aaalso didn't take long for him to get fed up with nursing because it wasn't 'easy' anymore in comparison. i have been pumping twice a day for nearly two months and have to give it to him in a bottle now. and i totally hear you on the hair business. mine is still falling out so much, but not as bad as it did at first!

it's such a fun experience to have, the first solid food! :) Boys do eventually get cleaner, once they figure out that it's not so much fun to have food particulates stuck in the creases of your hands! :)
